The Rosebud Young Actor’s Workshop will present an abbreviated version of, L. Frank Baum’s, “The Wizard of Oz” on May 15th at 7 pm in Prater Hall. The young actors, ages 10 to 14, began the six week workshop as a basic acting skills learning workshop without a planned performance. In the third week when they began reading and working on characterizations from, “The Wizard of Oz,” they really wanted to perform the short scene for their parents and friends. Liz Michael, the teacher, began adapting a bit longer version for them to perform. After a couple of script revisions it appeared that they had a show. With the parents help in coming up with costumes, props, and scenery, a show with a running time of approximately 20 minutes was born!
