WALLACE
COLEMAN IN CONCERT
Morristown
native and blues harmonica virtuoso, Wallace Coleman, will
return to the stage at Rose Center in Morristown on
February 11 for what has become his annual homecoming
concert.
The concert will be held in Prater Hall at 8:00 PM;
doors open at 7:30 PM.
Tickets are $15.
Wallace
Coleman first met Robert Lockwood Jr. in 1985. They became
fast friends, with Coleman playing in the local bluesman's
band for a decade. This was the beginning of Coleman’s
professional music career.
Coleman’s
professional music career had begun.
He embarked upon an exciting new path which would
eventually lead to the forming of the Wallace Coleman Band,
the creation of his own label (Ella Mae Music, formerly
Pinto Blue Music) and recording of his own music
(“Stretch My Money,” “Live At Joe’s,” and “The
Bad Weather Blues”) at the urging of Lockwood himself.
Coleman would go on to travel the world with his own
music, garnering high praise from Blues critics.
Coleman
recalls his friendship with Lockwood in "Robert
Jr.," the anchor to “Blues in the Wind –
Remembering Robert Jr. Lockwood,”
his most recent CD which was dedicated to his late
pal.
